Responsible for the installation, configuration,administration, maintenance and support of multiple databases and relatedapplications both in production and test environments.
Responsible for the installation, configuration,administration, maintenance and support of multiple databases and relatedapplications both in production and test environments.
Responsibilities:
• Install & maintain production, test, and internal(support) databases
• Monitor database performance and tune databasemanagement system as necessary
• Work closely with system administrator duringsoftware installation and upgrades
• Ensure high availability of all companydatabases
• Correct problems in databases as rapidly aspractical
• Support database replication system
• Offer assistance to developers in tuningdatabase queries under development
• Produce reports as requested
• Assist in design of reports in cooperation withusers
• Assist in development and deployment of ETLprocess

Requirements:
Technical knowledge & skills required: • Experience of large-scale MySQL databasesrunning in a Linux environment required
• Experience in an enterprise scale (24x7)production environment preferred
• Experience with Oracle a plus
• Experience with Vertica a plus
• Ability to anticipate issues and createproactive solutions
• Advanced database tuning
• Capacity planning
• Backup and recovery techniques, Knowledge ofrequirements for high availability
• Linux administration skills, Shell scripting
• Support QA and development environments
• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills
• Strong in scripting languages such as Perl, PHP,or shell scripting a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written andverbal
• Strong interpersonal and relationship buildingskills conducive to team development
• Ability to support replicated databases &related replication systems
• Familiarity with networking protocols anddevices.
• The ideal candidate will have comprehensiveknowledge of all aspects of database administration.
